Details
Not to be confused with other books with similar titles, this latest look at Glasgow's trams is published to celebrate the centenary of the introduction of electric traction to the city in October 1898. Alasdair Turnbull has produced a splendid volume of over 250 colour photos portraying the trams at work on the various routes in and around the city, drawn from the magnificent photographic collection of the late Douglas McMillan. The trams almost leap out from the grey city streets; the quality is excellent throughout whilst some shots are really superb. Taking us round the various routes the pictures form a splendid record of the city as it was in the days when the tram reigned supreme.
