Although articulated lorries are today accepted as the main form of road transport vehicle, it was the railway companies who pioneered the idea, which was later taken up by road haulage operators. This new book with many previously unpublished photographs helps to describe how the articulation concept, with the ability to rapidly exchange trailers, came to dominate the haulage scene.
