In this book the author, Brennand, takes a journey back in time to the golden age of steam. His book focuses on the east end of the capital with the Liverpool Street suburban lines. The author, having been too young to witness first-hand these steam engines at work, asked renowned railway author and photographer, Geoff Silcock, to write the foreword. In his foreword, Geoff Silcock uses personal anecdotes gleaned from several former Stratford footplate staff. This book is designed to be an offering of a vast quantity of photographs obtain by the author over the last 30 years depicting the scenes he sadly missed out on as a boy. This book is soft back, 102 pages, with over 150 beautiful black and white photographs illustrating the golden age of steam in the east end of London.
