This book is the sequel to number 31 in the prestige series, 'Doncaster 1- Independents- The First 30 Years' and picks up the thread in 1950. The dust had settled after the problems and privations of the Second World War, and in the years of austerity and rationing immediately following, and the operations of the independents' services into Doncaster were well established. The author, Roger Holmes, looks at the independent companies working throughout the north of Doncaster at this time including: W Everett & Son, Cooper Brothers, WR & P Bingley and TW Holling, amongst others. He also looks at those companies working out of the east such as, Samuel Morgan, T Severn & Sons and Felix Motors Ltd. Rossie Motors Ltd and Leon Motors Ltd are also featured as working out of the South as well as GH Ennifer Ltd and John H Barras Ltd. The history of these independents is profusely illustrated in this book with detailed black and white images. There are also five coloured photographs on the cover pages of this book.
