Highly regarded author Bob Essery brings his personal experience as a railwayman and railway modeller to bear on the operation of model railway station layouts. Following the same principles as his highly praised previous books on a variety of railway operations for the modeller, here he concentrates on the various operations to be seen at stations. The principles of operation in these examples will apply to all railways and will guide the modeller today who is no longer able to see at first-hand how the railway worked in the steam era. The book is organised into types of station. Prototype examples are shown of each of the following station types illustrated with photographs, trackplans and working timetables.
