Weston Clevedon & Portishead Railway

Details

One of Britain's most notable light railways, the Weston Clevedon & Portishead Railway served the towns of its title until 1940. It had been part of the Colonel Stephens empire from 1911 and despite possessing a varied collection of aged locomotives and rolling stock gave an efficient and friendly service. Peter Strange began taking and collecting photographs of his local line in the 1930s and in the subsequent fifty years built up an impressive collection. This book is drawn from that collection and illustrates almost every aspect of this charming light railway. It is full of detailed interest for the local historian, the railway student and modeller. It is a superb collection of photographs.
