This year is the 150th Anniversary of the Underground's District Line, which opened in two stages in October and December 1868. It is the London Underground line with the greatest number of stations and can claim a number of firsts, it was the first to trial Automatic Train Operation and the first to trial automatic ticket barriers. It also had the Underground's first female train driver. An unrivalled group of authors has contributed to this commemorative paperback, including Mike Horne, Piers Connor, Oliver Green, David Lawrence, Jim Connor and Paul Moss. Illustrated in colour and black and white.
