Almost everything there is to know about Ayrshire Bus Owners A1 Service must surely be included in this massive book about what was a co-operative of private owners operating under the A1 monicker. The book is the result of a lifetime's work of research into the 70 or so owners who were part of A1 during its existence. A1's history is comprehensively detailed as a business, but of course there is also a wealth of detail about the actual buses owned, acquired and operated as well as a major section at the end of the book on the owners and their buses. The word comprehensive does not do it justice.
