The first branch line railway that served Braintree in Essex is the former line from Bishop's Stortford through Dunmow and Felsted to Braintree and the second is the line from Witham to Braintree, which is still in use today. In addition, Wallis looks at the Maldon branch. The stations included are Bishop's Stortford, Hockerhill halt, Stane Street Halt, Takeley, Felsted, Bannister Green Halt, Rayne, Braintree old station, Braintree new station, Braintree Freeport, Cressing, White Notley, Witham, Wickham Bishops, Langford & Ulting and Maldon East. Each station features a number of photographs ranging from early Great Eastern Railway views through the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s to the present day.
