It is almost fifteen years since we first moved into makeshift offices in Llandudno Junction faced with the arduous task of getting the new Crosville Wales company off the ground. To make life more complicated, deregulation of bus services was only a matter of weeks away, and we knew that privatisation was not far round the corner. It has always struck me as a remarkable achievement that through all this, the buses continued to run, and that, at least to our customers, it was "business as usual". Duncan Roberts' excellent and authoritative history of Crosville Wales documents very well the many changes which have occurred during the intervening years. The introduction of midibuses, new working practices, and the many changes to the service network are just a few of the events which transformed the Company from one of the National Bus Company's "lost causes" to the strong business we have today. None of this success would ever have been achieved without the support and hard work of a huge team of people.
