London Underground 1967-99

John Glover photographed extensively this fascinating 20-year period in London Underground, bringing the best together in this book to include the opening of the Victoria line, the extension of the Piccadilly line to Heathrow, the establishment of the Jubilee line to Charing Cross and its separation from the Bakerloo, opening of the London Transport Museum at Covent Carden, the closure of Blake Hall station, Central line, the withdrawal of Bakerloo services Stonebridge Park to Watford Junction and the major exhibition held at Acton Works to mark the Golden Jubilee of what was by now London Underground Ltd. The period also included the delivery of new rolling stock to the Bakerloo, Circle, District, Hammersmith & City, Jubilee, Northern and Piccadilly lines and the withdrawal of their older stock, while new trains with Automatic Train Operation were built for the Victoria line. Through photographs, John Glover presents a fascinating survey of London Underground operations from 1963 to 1983.
