The handsome Cumbrian market town of Wigton is seen in all its Victorian and Edwardian splendour in this collection of photographs. Trevor Grahamslaw has unravelled the complicated story of the Nelson Thomlinson School, as well as including images and historical notes on the town's main streets, shops and businesses. A fire at Hartley's sawmill, the demolition in 1987 of Redmayne's tailoring factory, the installation of the Moore Memorial Fountain in 1872 and an aerial view showing the British Rayophane works all feature.
