Crosville 2 1945-1990

This volume of Crosville history covers a period when the company achieved its peak level of operations, and, some twenty years later, its greatest operating area with the transfers from North Western, SWT, and Western Welsh. The book also delves into the torrid times of the mid and late 1980s. In its time Crosville has been Railwayised, Grouped, Regrouped, Nationalised, Split, Privatised and Split again with Crosville Cymru, Midland Red North, North Western and PMT as its current successors. The authors' research have given them access to a wealth of material from the mid-1980s. Their speculations about the sale of the original company are understandable, and it may well be a coincidence that one of the principal players is now serving a jail sentence for financial irregularities involving the then group which owned the company from 1989. This book will give much pleasure to many who have been, or are, involved with the company, and to its enthusiastic fans.
