Hexham to Carlisle

This very historic route runs close to Hadrian's Wall and thus traverses superb upland scenery. Its many closed stations are illustrated, along with those on the long-lost branches. Details are also included of the Earl of Carlisle's Railway, which once carried minerals between Lambley and Brampton.
