Jim Blake's Garage Crawl

In many ways, the garages and depots from which London Transport and their successors' buses, coaches, tram and trolleybuses have operated from over the years are just as interesting as the vehicles themselves. Even today, some of those that survive have very long histories, stretching back to before the First World War - especially those that originated as tram depots. Garage Crawl features all the garages that were in use by London Transport fifty years ago. 101 garages are featured from the Central & Country areas, with a wide range of bus types illustrated in over 350 photos taken between the 1960s and 1990s.
