London Trolleybus Depots Part 2
AG416
This volume is an in-depth view of seven main and two short-lived London trolleybus depots. It starts at Bexleyheath and works in clockwise direction to conclude at Acton. It was considered parochial to just deal with the depots themselves so the opportunity is taken to show trolleybuses on each of the main routes they operated and the classes allocated to them - vehicles out in their work-a-day environment. There are 176 pages, ten of which are in colour. A number of paperwork and traffic circular items are illustrated; destination blinds from all depots are shown as are staff trolleybus journeys for the depots operating them. A boost are the large format overhead maps for most depots; two smaller ones are included in the main body. The book starts and finishes with two animated personal experiences: 'Tearing through the night' by the author on the morning of 19th July 1961, and 'A trolleybus conductress at nineteen', a clippie from Bexleyheath depot.
