Edition 78 celebrates the 75th anniversary of the foundation of the Scottish Tramway and Transport Society (formerly the Scottish Tramway Museum Society) with an anecdotal article by the last surviving founder member, Graham Ewing. The 70th anniversary of the closure of the Dundee and Edinburgh tramways are also recorded. Articles include Alexander Bus Builder; a summer spent on a Midlothian Pug locomotive; 19th Century steam buses and tram articles on maximum traction bogies, swing link trucks in Paisley and a trip to the four tram systems in 1956, all by well-known authors. There is also an update on the restoration of preserved Edinburgh cable car No. 226
