Steam Memories 1950-60s 91 Derbyshire Engine Sheds

This book features the engine sheds located around the Derbyshire area. These include: Burton, Derby, Staveley, Westhouses, Hasland, Rowsley, Buxton and Langwith, amongst others. Although Burton-upon-Trent is technically in Staffordshire it has been put amongst the Derbyshire sheds in this book for several reasons. Firstly, the code given is 17B, which is under Derby. Secondly, it can be argued that the boundary was just a stone's throw away. Finally, if the shed was still in existence it would have a Derby, DE, postcode. There are no diesel locomotives featured at all in this book although the locomotives shown in these pages are in their latter BR days, during the 1950s and 1960s, and therefore are sadly on their way out. This book has a great collection of black and white photos to illustrate their story.
