No 79 of 'Steam Memories 1950s-1960s' covers steam on Northumberland's branch lines. Due to the vast nature of the steam landscape in Northumberland it will take three books to cover all the lines. In this book the author, David Dunn, looks at Alston, Amble, Avenue, Chathill-Seahouses and Newbeggin branch lines. In order to give the best coverage possible included in this book are a few images from the LNER postwar years so that does mean the 'Steam Memories 1950s-1960s' series is somewhat stretching the time frame here in order to accommodate these superb images. 72 pages, soft back, over 50 black and white photographs.
