This second issue of RAILWAY TIMES features the new standard liveries for rolling stock, Bulleid’s innovations in the form of Double Deck EMUs, the much derided Tavern Cars and of course continuing problems with his Leader concept - all of which made headlines. Three notable CMEs, including Bulleid, decided to retire during this year and electrification came to the Liverpool Street - Shenfield line.
