Southern Times - Issue 5 Spring/Summer 2023

Southern Times is the new quarterly periodical for followers of the Southern Railway, British Railways Southern Region, as well as the pre-grouping companies; LSWR, SECR, LBSCR, and SECR. Quarterly publication, 80 pages packed with articles and images that are Southern related including where possible, unseen views in every issue. This issue has the first part of the history of the Staines and Wokingham railway, an accident at Guildford in 1952, Holland Part Halt, and one class of early Adams locomotives to name but a few. If you think you know all there is to know on the Bulleid pacifics you might also be surprised, as we have evidence and illustrations to prove one more saw the light from Ashford. Regular features are not forgotten either, with more colour from Stephen Townroe, further Treasures from the Bluebell Museum and of course our correspondence page 'From the Footplate'.
