West Coast Main Line Locomotive Haulage

With a long and interesting history, the West Coast Main Line is a key UK transport route. Transporting both freight and passengers to a large number of destinations, from London in the south to Glasgow in the north, it is the busiest mixed-traffic route in the country. Illustrated with around 100 images, this volume gives a snapshot of the WCML infrastructure, services and operators as well as some of the large variety of traction that has graced its tracks, including diesel and electric locomotives, and the many classes of locomotives that have been seen on the rails over the years.
