Details

The story of this company's development starts in 1926 when British Automobile Traction Company bought two other East Yorkshire bus operations. Over the ensuing years EYMS (itself a subsidiary of a bigger transport conglomerate) built up its services in East Yorkshire. Other firms were acquired then in 1942 EYMS was split in two. And so it went on. The various strands of the complex EYMS corporate history and timeline which ends in 1987 when EYMS returned to private ownership introduce the book. The main bulk of the book deals with the fleet over the years and the different types of buses used, culminating in a three page fleet list covering the years 1934 to 1973.
