SMT Buses

Surprisingly little has been published on this, one of the Scottish Bus Group's most enigmatic companies and Harry Barker's book is the result of a lifelong study of the buses of Scottish Omnibuses Ltd and Eastern Scottish from nationalisation in 1949 to privatisation in 1990. Harry provides a detailed and sometimes critical look at the company in this profusely illustrated (colour and black-and-white) 128- page A4-size hardback. There is also a look at SMT's earlier history, and at its subsequent story, through the management buy-out and Grampian ownership to its current existence as part of First Edinburgh.
