South Wales Buses - the First decade of Deregulation

This all-colour album is an unashamed wallow in nostalgia, illustrating the variety of vehicle types chosen to provide services across South and West Wales. The author begins in 1986 and gradually moves forward to 1996 charting most of the major changes along the way. Many familiar names will be seen gracing the sides of buses in this book including a number of fleets featured in Municipal Buses of South Wales and Independent Buses of South and West Wales. By the end of 1996 a significant list of operators had sold out or ceased to trade, and so it seemed a good point to conclude the journey through the early years of deregulation. Where appropriate, the subsequent history of any operators that survived beyond 1996 is briefly touched.
