Stirlingshire's Mining Disasters

This publication is the second volume to the Lanarkshire book which looks at the history of Scotland's mining disasters. There are separate chapters on the disasters at Barrwood Colliery, Redding Colliery and Dumbreck Colliery- as well as appendices, maps, an index of victims, a bibliography and a glossary of mining terms. The approach is serious and factual rather than sensationalistic so this will be a useful addition to the libraries of those interested in family history in the former mining districts of Stirlingshire.
