One of the early constituents of the great British Electric Traction organisation. It built up an intensive network of services based on Derby for which it had one of the most interesting fleets of buses and coaches, including for many years vehicles manufactured by the Midland Red company. Volume 1 takes the story from the beginnings to the end of World War 2.
