The Teesside Railless Traction Board has been unevenly treated in what has so far been written about it. There has been a substantial, although understandable, concentration on the long-lasting trolleybus services and very little on the motor bus operation, much of which was on works services. The legal background to the Board’s operation was complicated and confusing, and, was not assisted by the pronouncements of local politicians, who were often at odds with each other.
