It is relatively rare today to find an operator which has been in business since before the Road Traffic Act 1930. It is very rare to find one still running buses and coaches having started providing local transport in the late Victorian period. Only one name survives from the list above – that of Pulham, until 2023 in the ownership of the fifth generation of the family, but now part of a major international transport operator. Alongside some local social and economic references, this book aims to capture the company’s history up to the point of acquisition by the Go Ahead Group, whilst reflecting the pride and passion that was always present. Reference is made to Pulhams’ bus services over the years with some snapshots of what was being run at various dates.
