A collection of fifty-two rare period photographs recalling the long list of railway stations that once existed in Wiltshire, including Lavington, Amesbury, Bulford, Calne, Chiseldon, Downton, Highworth, Dinton, Codford, Woodborough, Purton and many others. A full history of the county's railways is included and many views feature scenes of times past including soldiers arriving at Salisbury Plain for training before the First World War and the many steam engines and wooden carriages which once graced the nation's railway network.
