Part two of the South Yorkshire story continues with the founder’s grandsons taking over the business in 1973 after the death of Ernest Bullock. This saw several changes including the disposal of the Ford car dealership, the opening of a new depot and the traditional livery for the buses being modernised. There was a new coach fleet for private hire and contract work and also to be used on the stage routes. Various new routes and services were tried with varying degrees of success. High costs, colliery closures and the inevitable reduction in passenger numbers caused revenues to fall and in 1994 South Yorkshire sold out to Caldaire Group. As with part one this volume is profusely illustrated in black and white and colour.
