London North – Railway 200 Issue 10

With a plethora of grand termini, goods yards, locomotive works and sheds constructed by opposing railway companies all seeking to capitalise on the wealth of the City, there remains much to satisfy the interest of railway historians and enthusiasts, as well as the casual observer. Modernisation has taken its toll, of course by eliminating steam but the introduction of diesel and electric motive power has brought great improvements to a run-down network, not to mention the upgrading of the London Underground system and new lines such as the Docklands Light Railway, the London Overground and most recently the opening of the east to west Elizabeth Line.
